Purple Row Radio - 7/25/11 Part 1

After several frustrating attempts at uploading our most recent podcast, that included changing the file size, the browser, the location, the internet connection and even the order in which I did everything, I just could not get the file to upload correctly.

Enter SB Nation's support team. While there is still no known cause for my difficulties in the upload, they were glad to do me a favor and upload the podcast themselves. The file was too large for me to e-mail to them outright, which means I had to split what was originally one podcast into two pieces. So you'll have two downloads that add up to one total podcast. Make sure you listen to them in order.

I'd like to thank the folks at support again for all the help, and hopefully they'll figure out a way for me to be able to properly upload the files again

On this edition, Andrew and I discuss the following topics and more:

- Star Trek (wooo).
- The forthcoming non-waiver trade deadline, specifically how it relates to the following players:
- Chris Iannetta
- Ubaldo Jimenez
- Jason Hammel
- Huston Street
- Ryan Spilborghs
- Ty Wigginton
- Ian Stewart
- Dexter Fowler

Purple Row Radio - 7/18/11

After a break, PRR returns, as Andrew and I discuss the following topics and more.

- Weather this past week.
- Movies (hooray for me!)
- The Ubaldo Jimenez trade rumors.
- Why is it reasonable that Dan O'Dowd listens to these offers, and how could a trade be beneficial to us?
- Why does the current state of the minor league system help suggest the possibility for a major trade of some sort?
- What are some of the difficulties regarding the management of a system for an organization that relies largely on homegrown talent?
- Ian Stewart and Dexter Fowler back with the team.
- Why do these two players have such a significant role in the future of this team?

- The Simpsons and Futurama (clearly practice for a future television podcast... one day...)
- The Mark Ellis acquisition.
- Why is Chris Nelson still Greg's projected heir to the second base position in 2012, and why could that easily change in the coming months?
- Why does Ellis remind Andrew of Clint Barmes (and how is he different?)
- What's the deal with the strange roster shuffling over the past few days, and why wasn't Cole Garner called up?
- Our thoughts (or lack thereof) on the All Star Game roster.
- Does Todd Helton have any chance at winning an All Star roster spot?
- Bennett Hipp (aka SCrebel10)
of Talking Chop joins us to discuss the upcoming Braves series.
- What does Bennett think of the four Braves All Star selections?
- How are the Braves different and/or the same after the Bobby Cox era?

Read Bennett Hipp's work over at Talking Chop.

THIS WILL BE OUR FINAL SHOW BEFORE THE ALL STAR GAME. WE ARE TAKING NEXT WEEK OFF FROM THE PODCAST AND WILL BE BACK ON JULY 17TH.
